Kennel Name: Chriscendo

Breed of Dog: Pomeranian

Years involved in dogs: 50 years (1970)

“Starting with one of the very first dogs we bred, Can. Am. Ch. Chriscendo City Lights ROMS, in the 80’s (still one of the top sires in the breed of all time.) Then in the 90’s, Can. Am. Ch. Chriscendo Call To Arms ROMS, had been, for several years, a Top Sire in the US. He was followed by Can. Am. Ch Chriscendo Calvin Klein. More recently, (2020) Can. Am. Pan. Fin. Thai, Ch. Chriscendo Common Sense ROMX was again Top Pom sire in the US.

We have always felt that any kennel’s strength is their bitches and several of our girls set enviable records. Can. Am. Ch. Chriscendo Classica (co-owned with Robert and Doug Stratton) with 32 BIS, making her the Top Winning Bitch of All time in Canada and one of the top Toys. Can. Am. Chriscendo Colour Picture set a breed record for Black and Tan Poms, with 10 BIS in Canada and she still holds the record today. Can Am. Chriscendo Catcall is still the top winning Pom Bitch in Thailand. Can. Am. Ch. Chriscendo Connoisseur, who one of the Top Toys in Canada, won 25 BIS before his untimely loss in 2017. Today we are thrilled with what our next generation has been doing. Ch. Chriscendo Cornerstone has produced two half brothers for us, whose Puppy careers look promising for the future, Can. Chriscendo Charmed Robbery, (Black and Tan) finished in Canada with a Best In Show as a puppy, as did his half brother, Can. Am. Ch. Chriscendo Cardiac Arrest.

We continue breeding today, on a limited basis, and recently finished our 160th Canadian Champion, many are dual titled in the US as well. We also were awarded The Canadian Kennel Club’s National Breeder of the Year in 2021.

Living in Brookfield, Nova Scotia, Canada, both retired from our careers; John a Professional Handler for many years, and Chris as Design Director for a Carpet company. Still currently breeding and showing Poms on a limited basis, Chris is currently President of the Pomeranian Club of Canada and is a Mentor with the American Pomeranian Club.

Always maintaining a limited number of Poms, we have been lucky enough to achieve a measure of success that we are proud of. We work with a small group of like-minded breeders, who strive to produce dogs whose progeny continue to establish a look and type that is recognizable around the world.”

“Serendipity is the act by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate while looking for something else entirely. Starfire’s was born of serendipity, and we look back at 40+ years in the wonderful world of pure bred dogs exhibition and breeding, we cannot help twists and turns along the path that have led us to today.

A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fabian Arienti immigrated to the United States in 1978.

With generations of outstanding winners, the Starfire’s Pomeranians are currently recognized as the top winning Pomeranian kennel in breed history together with my partner Mr. Tony Cabrera ,breeding Multi BISA and Westminster Kennel Club winners that can hold their own, in any ring around the world, is the rule, rather than the exception, for Starfire. Mr. Arienti and Mr. Cabrera bred and owned the only Pomeranians to ever win12 National Specialties. The highlight of his time in purebred exhibition, however, remains being selected by the American Kennel Club as Toy Breeder of the year for 2006.

Starfire’s Kennel has been involved with the Azawakh breed for more than a decade, holding the first AKC Champion, first BISA winner since recognized in 2019. Starfire’s Azawakh’s have broken to this date many records within the breed.

He is currently licensed to judge Maltese, Poodles, Papillons and Pomeranians., International assignments have included: Argentina, England, Israel, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, Lithuania, Russia, Norway.”
