ORIGIN<\/strong> : Poland<\/span>

\nSTANDARD<\/strong> : 08.06.1988<\/span>
\nUTILIZATION<\/strong> : Herder and watchdog. Its imposing attitude and<\/span>
\nbeautiful appearance make it a good companion dog.<\/span>
\nFCI-CLASSIFICATION: Group 1 Sheepdogs and <\/span>Cattledogs (except<\/span>
\nSwiss Mountain-and <\/span>Cattledogs).<\/span>
\nSection 1 Sheepdogs.<\/span>
\nWithout working trial.<\/span>
\nGENERAL APPEARANCE<\/strong> : Of strong and compact build giving<\/span>
\nthe impression of stamina and mobility.<\/span>
\nIMPORTANT PROPORTIONS<\/strong> : Rectangular in shape, the length<\/span>
\nof the body of males being a little shorter than that of bitches.<\/span>
\nBEHAVIOUR \/CHARACTER<\/strong> : Temperament calm, intelligent<\/span>
\nand alert.<\/span>
\nHEAD<\/strong> : Lean, in good proportion to the body, carried at medium<\/span>
\nheight both in movement and standing.<\/span>
\nCRANIAL REGION :<\/span>
\nSkull : Seen in profile slightly rounded ; the frontal groove is<\/span>
\nshallow.<\/span>
\nStop : Distinctly marked, but without abrupt break.<\/span>
\nFACIAL REGION :<\/span>
\nNose : Black, of medium size, with the nostrils wide open. <\/span>
\nMuzzle : Strong, gradually tapering ; its length is slightly greater or<\/span>
\nequal to the length of the skull. The nasal bridge is broad.<\/span>
\nLips : Desirably taut and well fitting ; the edges of the lips should be<\/span>
\ndark.<\/span>
\nTeeth : Strong, regularly set. Scissor bite, pincer bite accepted.<\/span>
\nEyes : Medium size, expressive, set slightly slanting ; the iris is dark<\/span>
\nbrown ; the eyelid rims are dark.<\/span>
\nEars : Set on at the height of the external angle of the eyes or a little<\/span>
\nhigher, medium length, rather thick, triangular, well furnished with<\/span>
\nhair ; the front edge of the ear is in slight touch with the head ;<\/span>
\nauricle mobile.<\/span>
\nNECK<\/strong> : Of medium length, muscular, without any dewlap, with a<\/span>
\nprofuse mane ; the upper line of the neck is higher than the topline of<\/span>
\nthe body.<\/span>
\nBODY<\/strong> : Long and massive.<\/span>
\nWithers : Distinctly marked, broad.<\/span>
\nBack : Level, broad.<\/span>
\nLoins : Broad , well coupled.<\/span>
\nCroup : Oblique, slightly sloping.<\/span>
\nChest : Deep.<\/span>
\nRibs : Oblique, rather flat.<\/span>
\nBelly : Slightly tucked up.<\/span>
\nTAIL<\/strong> : Set on not too high, carried below the topline ; when excited<\/span>
\ncarried above the topline, but not curved ; hanging, it reaches the<\/span>
\nhock ; the tip of the tail may be slightly curved.<\/span>
\nLIMBS<\/span><\/strong>
\nFOREQUARTERS :<\/span>
\nGeneral appearance: Forelegs muscular, with plenty of bone, but not<\/span>
\ntoo heavy ; seen from front straight and parallel.<\/span>
\nShoulder : Slightly sloping, well adapted to the body.<\/span>
\nPastern : Slightly sloping forward. <\/span>
\nForefeet : Compact, oval in shape like a relatively big fist. With<\/span>
\nhairs between the toes. Pads strong, hard and dark ; nails strong,<\/span>
\nblunt and dark.<\/span>
\nHINDQUARTERS :<\/span>
\nGeneral appearance: Viewed from the rear hind legs vertical ; seen<\/span>
\nfrom the side slightly set backwards, moderately angulated.<\/span>
\nHock joint : Seen from the side vertical.<\/span>
\nHind feet : Like the forefeet.<\/span>
\nCOAT<\/span><\/strong>
\nHair : On head, muzzle, frontpart of forelegs and on the hindlegs<\/span>
\nfrom the hock downward the hair is short and dense. The neck and<\/span>
\nthe body are covered with long, thick, straight or slightly wavy hair,<\/span>
\nhard to the touch. Undercoat profuse. On the neck a rich ruff ; the<\/span>
\nthighs are covered with profuse, long hair ; on the tail hair also<\/span>
\nprofuse, forming a flag.<\/span>
\nColour : Uniformly white ; little cream coloured patches are<\/span>
\nundesirable.<\/span>
\nHEIGHT<\/strong> :<\/span>
\nHeight at withers For males 65-70cm,<\/span>
\nfor bitches 60-65cm.<\/span>
\nFAULTS<\/strong> : Any departure from the foregoing points should be<\/span>
\nconsidered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be<\/span>
\nregarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect<\/span>
\nupon the health and welfare of the dog.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Frontal furrow distinctly marked.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Poor pigmentation of nose, eyerims and lips.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Light eye ( called \u00ab bear eye \u00bb).<\/span>
\n\u2022 Entropion.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Ears set high, directed backwards or cropped.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Neck carried horizontal. <\/span>
\n\u2022 Croup overbuilt.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Tail carried constantly above the topline.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Dewclaws.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Lack of hair between the toes.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Lack of ruff, lack of feathering on the legs.<\/span>
\nDISQUALIFYING FAULTS<\/strong> :<\/span>
\n\u2022 Aggresive or overly shy.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Any dog clearly showing physical or behavioural abnormalities<\/span>
\nshall be disqualified.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Stop too shallow.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Pointed muzzle.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Several missing teeth.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Over-or undershot mouth.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Ectropion.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Hair curly or silky.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Lack of undercoat.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Coat with coloured patches.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Nervous character.<\/span>
\nN.B:<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u2022 Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles<\/span>
\nfully descended into the scrotum.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Only functionally and clinically healthy dogs, with breed<\/span>
\ntypical conformation, should be used for breeding.<\/span><\/p>\n
