With working trial.<\/span>
GENERAL APPEARANCE<\/strong> : Symmetrical and well built all over,<\/span>
general outline a series of graceful curves. A strong but lissom<\/span>
appearance.<\/span>
BEHAVIOUR \/ TEMPERAMENT<\/strong> : Aristocratic. Alert with<\/span>
appearance of strength, endurance and speed. Kind, even disposition.<\/span>
HEAD<\/strong><\/span>
CRANIAL REGION :<\/span>
Skull : Of medium breadth, in proportion to length of foreface.<\/span>
Pronounced occipital bone.<\/span>
Stop : Well defined.<\/span>
FACIAL REGION :<\/span>
Nose : Dark, but may be lighter in the case of a lemon and white<\/span>
coloured dog. Nostrils wide, soft and moist.<\/span>
Muzzle : Somewhat concave, ending on level with nostrils, giving a<\/span>
slightly dish-faced appearance. Slight depression under the eyes.<\/span>
Lips : Well developed, soft.<\/span>
Jaw\/Teeth : Jaws strong, with perfect, regular and complete scissor<\/span>
bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to<\/span>
the jaws.<\/span>
Cheeks : Cheek bones not prominent.<\/span>
Eyes : Same distance from occiput as from nostrils, bright and kindly<\/span>
in expression. Either hazel or brown according to colour of coat. <\/span>
Neither bold nor staring, not looking down the nose. Eye rims dark,<\/span>
but may be lighter in the case of a lemon and white coloured dog.<\/span>
Ears : Leathers thin, set on fairly high, lying close to head, of<\/span>
medium length, slightly pointed at tips.<\/span>
NECK<\/strong> : Long, muscular, slightly arched, springing cleanly from<\/span>
shoulders and free from throatiness.<\/span>
BODY<\/strong> :<\/span>
Loin: Strong muscular and slightly arched. Short coupled.<\/span>
Chest: Just wide enough for plenty of heart room. Brisket well let<\/span>
down, to level with elbows. Ribs well sprung and carried well back,<\/span>
gradually falling away at loin.<\/span>
TAIL<\/strong> : Medium length, thick at root, tapering gradually to a point.<\/span>
Well covered with close hair, carried on a level with back, with no<\/span>
upward curl. In movement, tail should lash from side to side.<\/span>
LIMBS<\/span><\/strong>
FOREQUARTERS :<\/span>
General appearance : Forelegs straight and firm, with good oval<\/span>
bone, with back sinews strong and visible.<\/span>
Shoulder : Long, sloping and well-laid back.<\/span>
Carpus (Wrist) : Flat with front leg and protruding very little on<\/span>
inside.<\/span>
Metacarpus (Pastern) : Lengthy, strong and resilient. Slightly<\/span>
sloping.<\/span>
Forefeet : Oval, well knit, arched toes, well cushioned.<\/span>
HINDQUARTERS :<\/span>
General appearance : Very muscular. The haunch bones well spaced<\/span>
and prominent, not above level of back.<\/span>
Thigh : Good expanse of first thigh.<\/span>
Stifle : Well turned.<\/span>
Lower thigh : Good expanse. <\/span>
Hock : Well let down.<\/span>
Hind feet : Oval, well knit, arched toes, well cushioned.<\/span>
GAIT \/ MOVEMENT<\/strong>: Smooth, covering plenty of ground. Driving<\/span>
hind action, elbows neither in nor out. Definitely not a hackney<\/span>
action.<\/span>
COAT<\/span><\/strong>
Hair : Fine, short, hard and evenly distributed, perfectly smooth and<\/span>
straight with decided sheen.<\/span>
COLOUR<\/strong> : Usual colours are lemon and white, orange and white,<\/span>
liver and white, and black and white. Self colours and tricolours are<\/span>
also correct.<\/span>
SIZE AND WEIGHT<\/strong> :<\/span>
Height at the withers: Dogs: 63 – 69 cm.<\/span>
Bitches: 61 – 66 cm.<\/span>
FAULTS<\/strong>: Any departure from the foregoing points should be<\/span>
considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be<\/span>
regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect<\/span>
upon the health and welfare of the dog and on its ability to perform<\/span>
its traditional work.<\/span><\/p>\n

DISQUALIFYING FAULTS:<\/span><\/strong>
\u2022 Aggressive or overly shy dogs.<\/span>
\u2022 Any dog clearly showing physical or behavioural<\/span>
abnormalities shall be disqualified.<\/span>
N.B<\/strong>.:<\/span>
\u2022 Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles<\/span>
fully descended into the scrotum.<\/span>
\u2022 Only functionally and clinically healthy dogs, with breed<\/span>
typical conformation should be used for breeding.<\/span><\/p>\n
