You can feel its vitality from a historical, artistic and cultural point of view, while walking through its crowded city streets, by visiting its theatres, cultural centres, house-museums and galleries, by talking to its inhabitants, going to its festivals and attending its shows all over the country: places, people and events which speak of all the liveliness and the wish for rebirth that permeates this charming city.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mostar in 4K\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vhwYVhLjr2E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"contentheading\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Early Christian Basilica &#8211; Cim<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"img_caption left\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/spomenici\/bazilika.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The remains of the Basilica in Crkvine, Cim, from early Christianity represent the most significant archelogical site from this period. Besides the architecture, on this site there have been found the fragments of the stone plastics, and numerous tombs from the late Hellenic times, the early Christanity and the late Middle Ages. A representative sacral building from the early Christianity has also been found (5-6A.D).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Cim bb, Mostar<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"contentheading\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bishop\u2019s Ordinariate<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<div class=\"img_caption none\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/spomenici\/biskupija_600.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The new Bishop\u2019s residence is situated in the west part of the city, at Balinovac, between the former Bishop\u2019s residence and the Franciscan church. It was built in 1906 as a project of Max-Maximilian David from 1902. The building was designed in the spirit of the renaissance revivle- an eclectic historical style in architecture at the transition between the 19th and the 20th century on the broader area of Austro-Hungaria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/spomenici\/ordinarijat2.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"contentheading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Crooked Bridge (Kriva \u0106uprija)<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"img_caption none\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/spomenici\/cuprija2.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On the Radobolja River, near to where it joins the Neretva, close to the Old Bridge, stands the\u00a0<strong>Crooked Bridge<\/strong>, a miniature version of The Old Bridge -Stari Most. Built in 1558, eight years prior to the more famous Old Bridge, it is believed to have been built as a trial attempt for the following, more daring, construction. Destroyed in 2001 by the river \ufb02ooding, it has recently been rebuilt.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"img_caption none\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/spomenici\/cuprija1.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"contentheading\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Metropolitan Palace (1908)<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"img_caption none\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/spomenici\/mitripolija_600.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Built for the Bishop of the Orthodox Church, in 1908, during the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy, the Metropolitan is an interesting example of Neo-Baroque architecture. h e palace soars on a high point of the east sector of Mostar, on the left side of the Neretva River and o\ufb00 ers a romantic, panoramic view of the old city. The inestimable interior decorations and its unusual fa\u00e7ade, with niches holding statues of saints, sculptures in shells and urns, render it a decidedly original monument in the local surroundings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"contentheading\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Sports and adventure Park Fortica<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/priroda\/tandem.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Sports and adventure Park Fortica is located on a hill east of Mostar at an altitude of 500m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The main attraction of the sports and adventure park \u201cFortica\u201d is the 570m long ZIP LINE with a fantastic view of Mostar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The starting point of the ZIP LINE is in front of the mountain lodge and viewpoint where the state flag of BiH is located and ends on the steep cliffs of the sports climbing site \u201cStolac\u201d where 13 climbing directions are marked. There is also a short ZIP LINE for kids about 20m long.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition, the park&#8217;s location is ideal for mountain biking, as there are several trails where competitions are also held, and nearby Vele\u017e Mountain has mapped over 200km of forest roads that can be used for mountain biking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Within the park, paragliding take off site will soon be arranged and there are conditions for trail running and hiking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to sports facilities at the park&#8217;s location, there are numerous remains of Austro-Hungarian and Italian fortifications from World War I and II which represent the added content of this interesting location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/priroda\/flyer.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">PARK FORTICA ADVENTURE TOUR<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Half-day tour of the adventure park Fortica with a combination of different adrenaline activities. Tour starts from the mountain lodge in Fortica, where the participants are preparing and getting directions on the tour that takes place in the following order::<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">&#8211; Using the ZIP LINE with a length of 570m with a view of the city to the elevation of Stolac &#8211; A short hiking tour on the elevation of Stolac with a tour of the Italian fortifications from World War II &#8211; Abseil (rappel) down a 25m high cliff &#8211; Jeep safari visit to Austro-Hungarian fortresses from World War I &#8211; Return to mountain lodge and refreshment with domestic juices<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"contentheading\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Blagaj &#8211; Buna River<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/priroda\/buna.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">At only 12 km from Mostar, near the small town of Blagaj, is the famous natural spring of the Buna River, the largest karst spring in Europe, with an average annual \ufb02ow rate of 43 m\u00b3 per second. The spring is to be found under a 200 metre high rock and, very near it, stands the fascinating dervish Tekija monastery that, together with its surrounding landscape, creates a unique and unrepeatable scenery. The spring \ufb02ows out of a rock face, 15 metres wide, and skin-divers who have seen the grotto underneath it, have discovered that the underground current of the spring continues inside for 200 metres. Its waters, particularly cold and clean are full of precious trout, endemic of streams.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"contentheading\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The Waterfalls of Kravice<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<div class=\"img_caption left\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turizam.mostar.ba\/images\/stories\/priroda\/kravice.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Among the most fascinating naturalistic features of this region are the sparkling waterfalls of\u00a0<strong>Kravice<\/strong>, about 40 km from Mostar. The waters of the\u00a0<strong>Trebi\u017eat<\/strong>\u00a0River branch out, cascading from the tu\ufb00 walls from a height of 30 metres, and they form a natural amphitheatre, 150-metre wide, creating spectacular e\ufb00ects that bring to mind, even if in a more modest dimension, the imposing Niagara waterfalls. Popular in the summer season above all with rafting enthusiasts and locals, it is the perfect place for all those who wish to relax and enjoy themselves in the midst of an uncontaminated atmosphere, accompanied by the constant sound of waterfalls in the background. Near to them, there is also a small grotto with stalactites made of calcium carbonate, an old mill and a sailing ship, all to be admired. The Trebi\u017eat River also o\ufb00 ers pleasant canoe trips, organized by local experts, with 10-km river journeys for about 35 Euros per person (inclusive of guide, canoe and equipment).
