World Dog Show Amsterdam (the Netherlands), 9-12 August 2018

Spread the love

WDS Amsterdam

Dear dog fancier,

We are delighted at the prospect of welcoming you to the World Dog Show in Amsterdam!

A city buzzing with attractions such as the monumental Rijksmuseum and equally renowned Van Gogh Museum, but also numerous hidden treasures such as the Woods (Amsterdamse Bos) which is ideal for dog walking. So much in a country where tradition and folklore exist alongside new technologies and contemporary architecture.

The Netherlands is famous for its love of raw herring, windmills and brightly-coloured tulip fields. But equally well known for its innovative and cutting-edge organisations such as Philips and their superior medical systems and lighting, Bugaboo’s iconic pushchairs, Rituals’ fragrant bath and beauty products, and the virtually indispensible TomTom satellite navigation systems. All from Dutch soil.

The Dutch Kennel Club (Raad van Beheer) is proud to host the World Dog Show from 9-12 August 2018 based on the theme ‘Show the world your talent’. A unique, four-day, all-dog event showcasing almost every canine breed with exhibitors from all over the world, as well as numerous other activities concerning dogs in all aspects.

Check out our website news-items and updates and/or follow us on social media. On behalf of the Dutch Kennel Club I would like to invite you to the World Dog Show 2018 to celebrate with me the very best of the international canine world. And while you’re here, why not make the most of a perfect opportunity to explore Amsterdam and our country, the Netherlands!

Double CACs at the WDS 2018, the Benelux Winner and the Group shows
Because of the large numbers of entries expected, and the special international character of this four-day event, we have decided to award double CACs at the Benelux Winner 2018, at the World Dog Show 2018 and at the Specialties/Group shows. This means 2 points can be gained towards the Dutch Championship title.

Dutch Champion in just one week!
If your dog is awarded 2 double CACs (= 4 points) during these events he automatically acquires the title Dutch Champion (but only if the dog has reached the age of 27 months on the day the last CAC is awarded). This is a unique opportunity to gain the Dutch Champion title  between 9-12 August 2018! Dutch Junior Champion or Veteran Champion title in just one week!

These titles will be awarded if a dog receives the qualification
‘1 Excellent’ at three different shows while competing in the Junior Class or Veteran Class.

Reserve CAC counts as a full CAC
A Reserve CAC awarded at any of these shows counts as a full CAC.
• Crufts qualification 2019

Crufts 2019 qualification (not for the CAC-specialties)

The qualification for Crufts goes toe the male and female awarded the double CAC (best male and best female of each breed – provided acknowledged in England).

As in the Netherlands the Junior Class and Veteran Class also competes for the CAC, also the Junior Dog or the Veteran Dog can receive the qualification.

Besides that the Junior dogs have a separate qualification. That qualification goes toe the male and the female of the Junior Class provided the have received ‘1 Excellent’
